At its meeting on June 17, the Del Valle ISD Board of Trustees approved a balanced budget for the 2025–2026 school year, reaffirming the district’s commitment to student success and staff support, in a year marked by financial constraints, rising costs, and limited new state funding.

Del Valle ISD announces the appointment of Mark Willoughby as the district’s new Chief Operations Officer. The Board of Trustees approved the hiring at a Special Meeting on June 9. Bringing more than 30 years of educational leadership and operational management experience to the role, Mr. Willoughby joins after most recently serving as the COO for Liberty Hill ISD, where he oversaw construction, maintenance, safety, technology, and transportation for a rapidly growing school district.

We are proud to announce that Mr. Larry De La Cruz has been selected as the new Principal of Del Valle High School, following approval by the Board of Trustees at a special meeting on June 9. With nearly two decades of experience in public education and a strong reputation as a student-centered leader, Mr. De La Cruz brings a deep commitment to academic excellence, relationship-building, and community engagement.

Del Valle ISD will offer free summer meals for children from May 27 to June 27, with dates and times varying by location.

More than 800 DVISD graduates marked a significant milestone in their academic journeys Thursday evening.

Del Valle ISD celebrated its retirees at the annual Retirement Celebration, honoring their combined 520 years of dedicated service to students and the community.
